Queensland Hospital Admitted Patient Data Collection (QHAPDC):
A patient is on leave if they leave the hospital for a short period and intend to return to the hospital to continue the current course of treatment. Under current national guidelines, an admitted patient may be granted leave for up to a maximum of seven days.

Residential Mental Health Care Data Collection (RMHCDC):
A consumer is on leave if they leave the specialised residential mental health care facility for short to medium periods and intend to return to the facility to continue the current course of treatment/rehabilitation. Leave is typically for periods up to seven days, however, leave used in transitional leave scenarios may be for an extended period of up to 42 days.
Some information systems restrict date storage to CCYYMMDD format e.g. Oracle systems.
