Collection and Usage Attributes
The Non-admitted patient care-appointment schedule date must be on or after the Non-admitted patient care-referral receipt date and be on or before Patient-presentation date.
Patient administration systems (eg: HBCIS and CERNER) record the system date of when the hospital staff enter the appointment date/s, on there respective booking system.
The system for appointment scheduling or booking patient appointments in specialist outpatients may be manual or electronic. The appointment scheduling or booking system will facilitate the immediate booking of Category 1 patients when they are placed on the waiting list, and the use of a partial booking system for Category 2 and 3 patients (refer to Policy for the Management of Specialist Outpatient Services in Queensland Public Hospitals).
This data element allows a meaningful measure of system performance to be calculated, namely the number of days elapsed between the date the service provider received the referral and the date the appointment is entered onto the scheduling system.
