The total number of days from the date an outpatient clinic service request is received by an outpatient clinic to the date of a patient's initial attendance for an appointment.
Hospital outpatient clinic services excluding community mental health care (which includes hospital-based mental health ambulatory services).

Collection and Usage Attributes
The number of days is calculated by subtracting the Outpatient clinic service request-receipt date from the Outpatient clinic appointment-scheduled attendance date. The waiting time calculation includes weekends and public holidays.

Any days the patient's clinical urgency category is 'unclassified' (up to a maximum of five working days) are excluded in the waiting time calculation.

Any days the patient was not ready for care are also excluded in the waiting period calculation.
The number of days cannot be a negative number.
