QHIK is an electronic repository for storing, managing and disseminating Queensland Health's metadata.
QHIK continues to expand as new standards are developed and approved. As system development projects and business areas identify the need for new standard data definitions, Statistical Standards and Strategies Unit (SSSU) manages the process of establishing new standards and inclusion in the QHDD.
The description of individual data elements is compliant with the International Organization for Standardization/International Electrotechnical Commission (ISO/IEC) standard 11179 (first edition) "Specification and Standardization of Data Elements".
SSSU is currently working with data custodians to document their data supply requirements that are included in Schedule 4 of the service agreements between the Hospital and Health Services and the Department.

Information security classification for all information assets and data supply requirements in QHIK has been updated with the latest Queensland Government information security classification framework (QGISCF) v5.0.0 released in February 2020.
The QHIK is managed by the Statistical Standards and Strategies Unit, Statistical Services Branch (SSB).
