The date and time of first recorded contact with an emergency department/service staff member. The first recorded contact can be the commencement of the clerical registration or triage process, whichever happens first.

Verification Rules
Emergency Data Collection (EDC):
Data element is not blank.
Data element is a valid date and time.
Must be before or equal to the Emergency department stay-service commencement date/time and before the Non-admitted patient ED service episode-episode end date/time where that value is not null, and before the Emergency department stay-physical departure date/time.
Collection Methods
Record the presentation datetime using the full date and leading zeroes where necessary. Time is to be provided in 24 hour format.
