Verification Rules
Queensland Hospital Admitted Patient Data Collection (QHAPDC):
Can be null.
Should only contain numeric digits.
Must not contain unidentified characters/symbols.
If not null then a minimum of 8 characters should be supplied.
Collection Methods
Home telephone numbers should:
- be recorded as, prefix plus telephone number. For example, 0731822660
- not include non-numeric characters or spaces. For example, Ext123 or # 123.
For overseas persons, the country access code should be included at the beginning of the number.
Recording of telephone numbers (including mobile phone numbers) should capture the most appropriate contact details for a patient. This may result in the recording of a mobile phone number in a home, business and mobile telephone number form fields where appropriate.
Comments
The collection of the telephone details of a person is desirable for follow up and to facilitate the conduct of satisfaction surveys at a later date.
