Collection and Usage Attributes
A patient can only be registered on a gastrointestinal endoscopy (GIE) waiting list when the treating practitioner decides the patient is to receive the procedure.

For gastrointestinal endoscopy services utilising a direct access referral model, the Placed on waiting list date is the date the referral is triaged.

For referral models where an assessment of the patient is undertaken first, the Placed on waiting list date is the date the practitioner assesses the patient and determines that the procedure is required.
Must not be before Person-date of birth.

Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Data Collection (GIEDC):
If Gastrointestinal endoscopy service request -clinical urgency assessment category is code 9 Surveillance, must not be after the Gastrointestinal endoscopy service request-surveillance due date.

Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Data Collection (GIEDC)-Removals
Must not be after the Service request-removal from waiting list date.

Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Data Collection (GIEDC)-Waiting:
Must not be after the Hospital waiting list-census date.
The date should be recorded as the date the patient was registered, not the date the registration was recorded in an information system.
