Collection and Usage Attributes
In a telehealth session the participant sites are involved in the provision of health service to a client. However, telehealth participation role is the role that each site plays in relation to each other in a telehealth session. That is, the distinction between which site/s is/are providing the consultation (collaborator) and which site is receiving the consultation (originator). Usually, the site in the originator role is the site where the client is present.

Code 1 Originator (Patient location)
The role played by the party to whom the service was delivered. For example, a site receiving a consultation service from another site.

Code 2 Collaborator (Other location)
The role played by the party delivering the service. For example, a site providing specialist consultation services to another site.
HBCIS outpatient appointments: In the HBCIS outpatient appointments module the 'Telehealth participating site-telehealth participation role type' data element is collected for video conference delivery mode only (i.e where QHLTH 040780 Version 2 Service Delivery Mode = 22 Videoconference).

Non-admitted patient service events: In the QHNAPDC the Telehealth participating site-telehealth participation role type data element is derived from the Non-admitted patient service event-service delivery setting and Non-admitted patient service event-service delivery mode as follows:
- Service delivery setting code 2 (OFF - the hospital campus of the healthcare provider (another hospital)) or 3 (OFF - the hospital campus of the healthcare provider (other setting)) and service delivery mode code 3 (Videoconference) is mapped to code 1 (Originator (Patient location)).
- Service delivery setting code 1 (ON - the hospital campus of the healthcare provider) and service delivery mode code 3 (Videoconference) is mapped to code 2 (Collaborator (Other location)).
Telehealth participating site can be inferred when Originator is the patient location and Collaborator is another location.
