Collection and Usage Attributes
The Healthcare provider individual-occupation start date must:
- be less than or equal to the Healthcare provider individual-occupation end date;
- be a valid date;
- be collected for each Healthcare provider individual-occupation category (self-identified) (ANZSCO 2009) recorded.
If the date is estimated in some way, it is recommended that the data element Date accuracy indicator also be recorded at the time of record creation to flag the accuracy of the data.

For data integrity, data exchange, future data analysis and/or manipulation of data from diverse sources the Date accuracy indicator MUST be used in conjunction with the Provider occupation start date in all instances to ensure accuracy.
