The commencement date of the period of time that the patient will not be/is not ready for care and/or treatment.
Elective surgery (admitted patient care). Specialist outpatient services (hospital non-admitted patient care). Community health care. This item is necessary to accurately calculate the number of patients waiting for care/treatment and the waiting time.

Collection and Usage Attributes
This item is to be used by the hospital or community health service to record the commencement date the patient was not ready for care.
The not ready for care start date must be on or before the not ready for care end date.
Patient administration systems (eg: HBCIS, Cerner) have dedicated elective surgery and outpatient modules to collect this data.
Patients are able to have more than one 'not ready for care-start date' recorded within the same listing period. Some Queensland Health information systems restrict date storage to CCYYMMDD format e.g. Oracle systems.
