Collection and Usage Attributes
Code 11 State - hospital
An outpatient clinic mainly funded by a state public hospital.
[The corresponding cost centre in the Queensland Health (QH) General Ledger System must have a 'Funding Source' code of 'State - Hospital' and be within the cost centre hierarchy identified as being part of the hospital.]

Code 12 State - research
An outpatient clinic mainly funded by state research funds falling within the scope of the Queensland Health Research Management Policy. Examples of activity meeting the criteria of research projects are:
- industry sponsored trials (e.g. drugs, diagnostic and therapeutic equipment);
- projects funded by major research funding bodies;
- projects funded by Non-Government Organisations (e.g. hospital foundations); and
- projects initiated by Queensland Health staff and supported but not directly funded by Queensland Health, including research for higher degrees.

Funding for research projects must be managed via District operating funds and not General Trust Funds.
[The corresponding cost centre in the QH General Ledger System must have a 'Funding Source' code of 'State - Research'.]

Code 13 State - trust
An outpatient clinic mainly funded by a state Trust Fund managed by Queensland Health (e.g. General Trust).
[The corresponding cost centre in the QH General Ledger System must also have a 'Funding Source' code of 'State - Trust'.]

Code 19 State - other
An outpatient clinic mainly funded by state funds other than research, trust or public hospital funding.
[The corresponding cost centre in the QH General Ledger System must have a 'Funding Source' code of 'State Funded' and not be part of the public hospital's cost centre hierarchy (e.g. State funded community health or district wide services).]

Code 20 Australian Government (Commonwealth)
An outpatient clinic mainly funded by the Australian Government (Commonwealth).

Note: In some circumstances funding can be made directly to Corporate Office or the Health Service District in the first instance and then be redistributed as determined by the Office/District. Therefore, Code 20 is to be used as the funds were originally received by Queensland Health (i.e. Corporate Office or the Health Service District) from the Australian Government (Commonwealth) or via billing of professional service to Medicare Australia (e.g. medical officers with right of private practice arrangements and also non-referred professional services provided in an Aboriginal/ Torres Strait Islander community and/or clinics).
[The corresponding cost centre in the QH General Ledger System must have a 'Funding Source' code of 'Commonwealth'.]

Code 98 Other
An outpatient clinic mainly funded by other arrangements not previously described (e.g. General Practice or other professional services).

Code 99 Not stated/unknown.
Only one valid funding source code may be recorded.
The Financial and Materials Management Information System (FAMMIS - also known as SAP) is the General Ledger System used by Queensland Health. Further information pertaining to the associated cost centre structure can be obtained by contacting your local Finance Department.
