The corporate standard facility code list is maintained by the Data Services Unit. The Client Services Unit, Health Information Centre should be contacted to obtain the most recent list of facilities. This list is also available on QHiN from the HIC Infobank area.

Collection and Usage Attributes
QHAPDC
Transmit as a fixed length 5 character field, right justified and left padded with zeroes.
The following supplementary codes are used in QHAPDC:
880 = Australian Capital Territory
810 = New South Wales
870 = Northern Territory
890 = Overseas
840 = South Australia
860 = Tasmania
820 = Victoria
850 = Western Australia

QPDC
The following supplementary codes are used by the perinatal collection:
994=Royal Womens' Hospital birthing centre
995= Mackay birthing centre
996=Bundaberg birthing centre
998=Planned home births
999=emergency / unknown

For perinatal statistics, note that birth centres have separate facility numbers to the hospitals to which they are attached. Babies born before arrival (BBAs) are allocated the facility number of the hospital where the perinatal data form is completed. Use this item in conjunction with QHDD 0079 "Non-hospital births" to exclude BBAs.
