Collection and Usage Attributes
Code M Mandatory
A value is required when the attribute is assigned to a facility. For example, the Formal facility name attribute (FNAME) requires the name to be recorded as the value.

Code N Not allowed
A value is not required when the attribute is assigned to a facility. These attributes represent simple true/false properties. For example, the ACPTFR attribute (Hospital can accept transfer patients from another hospital) does not require a value to be recorded as the absence of the attribute indicates that the facility does not accept transfer patients from another hospital.

Code O Optional
The requirement for an attribute value is discretionary when it is attached to a facility.

Facility attributes are individual pieces of information about a facility. For example, name of the facility, whether or not it has an intensive care neonatal unit, facility type, etc. Some attributes apply to all facilities (i.e. facility name, facility type) whilst others may or may not apply to a facility (e.g. licence related attributes only apply to licenced private hospitals).

Corporate Reference Data System (CRDS) Facility data set:
Shall not be null when an attribute type is created, otherwise is blank.
If code is M (Mandatory) or O (Optional), Facility attribute (CRDS)-attribute minimum value length and Facility attribute (CRDS)-attribute maximum value length shall not be null.
