Collection and Usage Attributes
Anaesthesia includes any drug related method of pain relief used by the mother during labour/delivery.
Queensland Perinatal Data Collection (QPDC):
Must not be blank.
Must be 1, 2 or 9.
If code 2 Yes, Birth event-type of anaesthesia administered must be completed.
For national reporting of the Birth event-anaesthesia administered indicator (NHDD) data element the following mapping occurs:
Code 1 No is mapped to code 2 No.
Code 2 Yes is mapped to code 1 Yes.
This data element should be used in conjunction with the Birth event-type of anaesthesia administered data element to obtain information on the type of anaesthesia administered to the mother during the labour and/or delivery.
