This code is used to indicate that a patient self-referred to a non-admitted patient service.

This data element enables Queensland Health Non-Admitted Patient Data Collection (QHNAPDC) mandatory data elements Non-admitted patient service event-service request received date and Non admitted patient service event-service request source to be derived upon load within the QHNAPDC processing system for non-specialist type clinics (permissible Corporate Clinic Codes (CCC)) for which a facility or a Hospital and Health Service (HHS) has deemed that a patient can 'self-refer' to that clinical service.

This list of permissible CCCs is only relevant to the application of the Self-referral indicator i.e. it does not permit the Self-referral indicator to be applied globally to specialist clinics and does not preclude the use of Non admitted patient service event-service request source code 70 (Health care client - Self) as a valid referral source for service events where it is deemed by a HHS or facility that a patient can 'self-refer' to that clinical service.

The use of this data element is at the discretion of a facility or HHS and was introduced to reduce the resource effort associated with the provision of the referral data elements.
May be blank.
Queensland Health Non-Admitted Patient Data Collection (QHNAPDC):
Service event records which are assigned this indicator will have the two mandatory QHNAPDC referral data items of Non-admitted patient service event-request received date and Non-admitted patient service event-source of request, derived upon load of the data extract to the QHNAPDC system.
This data element is only permissible for clinics that are mapped to non-specialist CCC codes. For the list of permissible clinics download the QHNAPDC Business Rules: INTERNAL QH LINK NOT AVAILABLE.
Non-admitted care provides a consistent framework for counting non-admitted patient service events for statistical, costing and funding purposes.
