Collection and Usage Attributes
Record all interventions provided to a client during an occasion of service.

This item refers to interventions provided by the NSP/other staff member on duty.

Interventions are sometimes provided when a client is not picking up any equipment and it should be ensured that these interventions are also recorded.

Code 11 Safe injecting/Veincare information/education
Includes provision of information or education on how to find a vein or inject into a muscle, being shown how to insert the syringe properly, and/or receiving information about safer injecting than they did not already know.

Code 12 Drug information/education
Involves provision of information related to the drug reported to be injected or any other drug that the client might enquire about with intent to inject including the effects and interactions of these drugs by themselves or in combination with other drugs.

Code 14 Safe disposal information/education
Includes provision of information and advice about safe disposal issues, such as the benefits of safe disposal and safe disposal options.

Asking the client about their disposal behaviour, on its own, does not constitute safe disposal education.

Code 16 Physical health information/education/counselling
Includes provision of health information, education and support around conditions that affect the physical activity and function of the clients (e.g. Diabetes, Hypertension, etc).

Code 17 Mental Health information/education/counselling
Includes provision of health information, education and support to people who are affected by mental illness, or who seek to improve their emotional wellbeing.

Code 18 NSP policy information/education
Involves provision of information pertaining to policy and guidelines governing the NSP and how it affects the dispensing of injecting equipment and the gathering of data.

Code 19 Other information/education
Includes provision of information or education that involves discussion between the NSP staff member and the client, and that cannot be allocated to codes 10 to 18.

Code 20 Client complaint
A complaint is an expression of dissatisfaction with the level and quality of any service, policies or procedures. Dissatisfaction may arise from the service provided by the impact of a particular policy or procedure.
Record if customer complaint is the primary point of discussion.

Code 22 Opioid Treatment Program information/education
Includes provision of information on the opioid treatment program, advising on the advantages of the program, enrolment options available to the client, discussing their treatment progress, etc.

Code 99 Missing
This code should be used where no attempt has been made to collect/record information from the client.
Must not be null.
This data element is collected on each occasion of service.
