Collection and Usage Attributes
To enable Department of Health (DoH) and Hospital and Health Services (HHS) to access through a shared repository, information on NSP client characteristics and activity including consumption of equipment in Queensland. The shared repository supports information sharing and reporting across the state.
The shared storage repository (read only) enables NSP facilities within their respective HHS to collect, store and share information at one central point. The QMDS-NSP comprises NSP activity data relating to individual occasions of service.

Demographic profile and drug injecting information from de-identified clients of those Needle and Syringe Programs in Queensland collecting and submitting data.

The data elements can be divided into four groups:
a) client data,
b) drug use data,
c) equipment data, and
d) interventions data.

A facility provider data element is also included.
25 largest NSP sites in Queensland.
Queensland Minimum Dataset for Needle and Syringe Programs Annual Report produced since 2007.
Data is collected at every occasion of service.

Data which is de-identified at a facility level is electronically available to DoH and HHS. Data is also publicly available on QHEPS through an annual report on de-identified trends.

Data is collected on every occasion of service across 25 NSP facilities in Queensland. However, as per the QNSP policy, a client will not be refused service for declining to provide information.
