This value may change whilst the patient is listed on the waiting list. Between 1/7/97 and 30/6/98, QHAPDC received only the most recent value of this data item. From 1/7/98 all values, both the initial and any changed values are received by QHAPDC.

The initial value of this item is supplied to QHAPDC linked to the data item "Listing Date on waiting list". If there are subsequent change/s to this item, the new value/s are submitted linked to the data item "Date of change of waiting list details".

This is a code to indicate the planned type of physical accommodation for the patient as at the date placed on the waiting list, whether the patient plans to be treated as a public or private patient. The item does not relate to the patient's hospital insurance status or the actual accommodation after admission.

This value is collected at the time the patient is placed on the waiting list. Although this value may change whilst the patient is listed on the waiting list, these changes are not collected.
Verification Rules 
Queensland Hospital Admitted Patient Data Collection (QHAPDC):
Must not be null with admitted patient elective surgery admission records.
Validated against the waiting list planned accommodation codes reference file.
Collection Methods 
Hospital Based Corporate Information System (HBCIS):
This is a code to indicate the planned type of physical accommodation for the patient as at the date placed on the waiting list, whether the patient plans to be treated as a public or private patient. This intended accommodation is from field 24 of the Waiting List Entry screen.

The item does not relate to the patient's hospital insurance status or the actual accommodation status after admission.

Queensland Hospital Admitted Patient Data Collection (QHAPDC):
From 1/7/2001, QHAPDC receives the value collected at the time the patient was placed on the waiting list.
This data element is only supplied by Public Hospital Services.
