Collection and Usage Attributes
Emergency Data Collection (EDC):
Must be a valid date/time or blank.
Where not null, must be after Emergency department stay-presentation date/time, Non-admitted patient ED service episode-triage date/time where not null, and Non-admitted patient ED service episode-service commencement date/time where not null, and on or before Emergency department stay-physical departure date/time.
Mandatory unless Non-admitted patient ED service episode-episode end status data element equals 4 (Did not wait), 5 (Left at own risk after treatment commenced), 7 (Dead on arrival )or 14 (Registered, triaged and referred elsewhere without receiving care). If Non-admitted patient ED service episode-episode end status is 4, 5, 7 or 14 this data element must be null.
Record the Episode end date/time using the full date and leading zeroes where necessary. Time is to be provided in 24 hour format.
