Guide for Use 
Each waiting list entry may have one or more periods where the patient is not ready for surgery. The date not ready for surgery is the first date in this period that the patient will not be ready for surgery. Not ready for surgery patients are those who are not in a position to commence treatment.
Verification Rules 
Queensland Hospital Admitted Patient Data Collection (QHAPDC):
Must be a valid date.
Must not be after the admission date. 
Must not be in the future (i.e. past current date) 
Must not be null for admitted patient records with not ready for surgery activity.
Must not be after the last not ready for surgery date.

This item is necessary to accurately calculate the number of patients waiting for elective surgery, and the waiting time.
 
When calculating not ready for surgery periods, in addition to not ready for surgery dates, other factors are considered i.e. days the patient waited with a less urgent clinical urgency category.
